Kyrgyzstan is beautiful. Can’t imagine how the colors come together during the summer. There is so more stories I would like to tell. Here are few of them.
This place is magical. A semi desert area, with few saint springs, next to them sad three. People come here to pray and get healed by drinking from those springs. We tried few of them and water tasted different from each of them. Magical
Tandoori bread. Fresh bread always will be the most simple food you can enjoy. This man gave us one for free to welcome us in Kyrgyzstan.
You pay 5 soms (around 1 cent) for toilet paper. Toilet here is simple – whole in the ground. Some of them have a premium finish, this one was actually dirty as hell.
Meat still is very important part of the diet. Before people would eat boiled meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now it comes with veggies, and meat is not eaten in a form of half kilo steak.
Eagle hunters – they will watch TV, sleep and eat with his bird. We witnessed how this flying monster ate a whole rabbit including bones. He can catch rabbits, foxes and sometimes wolves. This is still part of a nomadic culture to hunt with him on a horse. Incredible experience.
We landed for lunch at home of jurt makers.
Our driver was fully integrated with his phone (but not while driving, though!)
Chai – tea, you will drink more than you used to drink in a whole year, and believe me I drink a lot. Chai, chai, more chai? Sipping from small bowls make this a proper ritual.
It takes them weeks to design, bend, paint, stitch, and fabricate the tent. Every single thing is made by hand. Rolls Royce of tents. For example “nails” are made from cows skin – don’t ask for details, but its very impressive.
Malwinka was willing to help. She rolled dough for dupplings, which she refused to eat at the end.
Let’s get it straight. When Kyrgyz host you over dinner they will cook 100 dumplings and expect to eat all of them. This is was a moment when I thought I will explode. Good, I had a bit of local spirit to help myself.
Issyk Kol lake is so beautiful that it made my SSD card stop working. Can you see those snowy peaks at the other side? Wow!
Visiting local shaman is what we usually do 🙂 This one had an interesting technique.
This smoked fish was insane! Damn!
Next time you will eat Kyrgyz noodles, think that it takes ages to make them. You squeeze, you shape, you stretch them, and you repeat it.
Second to the left is a father of our host.
Actually, he looks like Steve Jobs.
Osh bazaar. This photo booth is out of this world. This place too. I was taken to the police station for taking pictures. Actually, I was filming and the guy in a big hat just popped into my camera. Got pissed and took me with him. Our guide played major role taking me out this place
When you climb a holy mountain, and there this guy. He is a local shaman who works in Medical Center for Drug addicts.
This place was of this era. Time stopped there in 1976. Stunning experience. Post soviet sanatorium with mineral water.
