Kyrgyzstan Part II

Kyrgyzstan is beautiful. Can’t imagine how the colors come together during the summer. There is so more stories I would like to tell. Here are few of them.

This place is magical. A semi desert area, with few saint springs, next to them sad three. People come here to pray and get healed by drinking from those springs. We tried few of them and water tasted different from each of them. Magical

Tandoori bread.  Fresh bread always will be the most simple food you can enjoy. This man gave us one for free to welcome us in Kyrgyzstan.

You pay 5 soms (around 1 cent) for toilet paper. Toilet here is simple – whole in the ground. Some of them have a premium finish, this one was actually dirty as hell.

Meat still is very important part of the diet. Before people would eat boiled meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now it comes with veggies, and meat is not eaten in a form of half kilo steak.

Eagle hunters – they will watch TV, sleep and eat with his bird. We witnessed how this flying monster ate a whole rabbit including bones. He can catch rabbits, foxes and sometimes wolves. This is still part of a nomadic culture to hunt with him on a horse. Incredible experience.

Chai – tea, you will drink more than you used to drink in a whole year, and believe me I drink a lot. Chai, chai, more chai? Sipping from small bowls make this a proper ritual. DSC03040

It takes them weeks to design, bend, paint, stitch,  and fabricate the tent. Every single thing is made by hand. Rolls Royce of tents. For example “nails” are made from cows skin – don’t ask for details, but its very impressive. DSC03060

Next time you will eat Kyrgyz noodles, think that it takes ages to make them. You squeeze, you shape, you stretch them, and you repeat it.DSC03468
